Tresys Technology Announces the Release of the SELinux Policy IDE Version 1.3
Columbia,
Maryland–December 4, 2007 – Tresys Technology, the leading innovator and open source contributor
of technologies that make secure Linux easier to use, has released version 1.3 of SLIDE - an integrated development environment (IDE) for
Security Enhanced Linux (SELinux) policy developers and integrators. Tresys SLIDE is a free, open source project designed for use with
Reference Policy, another open source project by Tresys that has become the standard for SELinux security policy development.
The new version of SLIDE provides the following new features:
-
Coloring of attributes, classes, permissions, roles, types and users for easier
identification while editing policy.
-
Simple analysis task capabilities - including Type Enforcement rule searching
and domain transition analysis for integrated analysis when writing policy.
-
The ability to select messages from the audit view and automatically locate interface
class or allow rules to resolve the denials; makes finding interfaces less of a manual process (i.e., easier for the policy developer).
-
New project property pages for editing the user and rolemap files - allows more of the policy configuration available directly within SLIDE.
The SLIDE project is just one of several Tresys-developed
open source technologies for SELinux. For more information on SLIDE and other Tresys open source SELinux
technologies, visit oss.tresys.com.
