Tresys Technology Announces the Release of SETools
Version 3.1, for Security Enhanced Linux
Columbia, Maryland–February 8, 2007 – Tresys Technology has released Version 3.1 of SETools, the popular open source tool suite for Security Enhanced Linux (SELinux). SETools is the most extensive set of tools available for analyzing, understanding, and debugging SELinux security policies. The new version of SETools provides the ability to open modular policies and an improved audit library for viewing and searching of SELinux related audit messages.
SELinux security policy is a sophisticated set of system security rules that makes it possible to configure Linux for many differing security solutions. The SETools suite consists of tools that allow a policy developer or security tester to analyze a SELinux policy for correctness, completeness, and desired security properties. All of the tools in the suite are based on a core central policy analysis library that Tresys has developed based on their extensive experience with writing and analyzing SELinux policies.
SETools is just one of several Tresys-developed open source technologies for SELinux. For more information on SETools and other SELinux technologies, visit www.tresys.com.
