Tresys Technology Announces the Release of the
SELinux Integrated Development Tool (SLIDE) Version 1.0

Columbia, Maryland–January 25, 2007
– Tresys Technology announces the release of the first full version of SLIDE, an integrated development environment (IDE) for Security Enhanced Linux (SELinux) developers and integrators. Tresys SLIDE, a free, open-source project, provides features that make writing, testing, and debugging SELinux policies easier. SLIDE is designed for use with the SELinux Reference Policy, another open-source project by Tresys that has become the standard for SELinux security policy development.

Tresys SLIDE provides the following features:

  • An updated interface for policy development, including developer-friendly features such as policy syntax highlighting, context suggestions, and integrated compilation.

  • Quick lookup and documentation interfaces into SELinux Reference Policy, along with convenient indicators of required syntax.

  • Advanced wizards and easy-to-use templates for automation of common policy creation tasks.

  • The ability to install an under-development policy on a remote system for testing while enabling remote audit monitoring.

  • Seamless integration with standard Eclipse - providing access to the open source development environment’s features and functions.

The SLIDE project is just one of several Tresys-developed open source technologies and enterprise products for SELinux. For more information on SLIDE, other SELinux open source technologies, and Tresys products visit www.tresys.com.
