TRESYS TECHNOLOGY NAMES JOHN CLARKE AS
DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGY
COLUMBIA, MD - November 2, 2004 –Tresys Technology, a Columbia-based developer of IT security solutions, is announcing the appointment of John Clarke as director of research and technology operations. Clarke will be responsible for managing all aspects of the research and technology operation division including technology innovation, development, and deployment.
Clarke comes to Tresys with a comprehensive background in technology management. Previously he served as senior vice president of business operations at Aether Systems, a wireless data and mobile solutions company. Prior to that position Clarke held numerous other leadership roles at Aether Systems including corporate vice president, operations; corporate vice president, OmniSky initiative; corporate vice president, wireless hosting services; and corporate vice president, global initiatives.
Clarke started his career at Westinghouse Electric Company, rising from senior engineer to department manager supervising 25 engineers involved in the development of advanced solid state T/R modules. He is the recipient of two Westinghouse Signature Awards of Excellence for Engineering Achievements and holds a patent for his modular solid state radar transmitter.
A resident of Columbia, MD, Clarke holds a B.A. degree in mathematics from the State University College Potsdam; a B.S. degree in engineering from Clarkson University; and an M.B.A. in marketing from Loyola College in Maryland.
